In general, oxidative decay is a long term reaction, whose reaction rate is often dictated by the diffusion of oxygen into the reacting solid. Excessive heating to accelerate the reaction can change the decomposition kinetics by phase transitions, which do generally not reflect the real life usage or storage conditions, therefore invalidating the measure. As a consequence of diffusion-controlled reaction rates and generally mild temperature, CL-based measures are in general long term experiments (to the exception of so-called screening methods). To ensure proper data acquisition and storage and protect against sudden electric supply variations during the measure itself, our uninterruptible power supply module (including the surge protection) guarantees electric autonomy for up to 20 minutes.
